Ben Nettleton is an experienced Commercial Barrister. He commenced practice as a junior to a leading Queens Counsel. Subsequently he practised as a solicitor with an established South Island firm advising on transactions and representing corporate entities, government entities and individuals in civil, employment and regulatory matters at all levels up to and including the Court of Appeal.

Ben’s main specialties are commercial/contractual disputes, company law, regulatory issues, rural matters, employment law and sports/ racing law.

Ben is an accredited mediator, and regularly acts as an adjudicator on accident compensation cases, he also has experience sitting on a range of quasi-judicial bodies.

He also has an established governance career and holds or has held a roles on the boards of a range of organisations including New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing, Invercargill City Forests, Youthline, Judicial Control Authority for Racing, Heretaunga Tamatea Settlement Trust – Investment Committee and private company appointments including through Perpetual Guardian.
